However, buying a Mac does not automatically mean the business will receive maximum value from it.

A Mac should be selected carefully, configured securely and managed as part of the organisation’s wider IT environment. Without suitable management, businesses can experience inconsistent setups, unsupported applications, weak backup arrangements and unnecessary security risks.

Here is how to get the most from your Mac for business.

1. Choose the Right Mac for the Employee’s Role

Not every employee needs the same Mac.

A user who mainly works with email, documents and video calls will have different requirements from someone editing large videos, developing software or working with complex design files.

Before purchasing equipment, consider:

  • The applications the employee uses.
  • The amount of memory required.
  • Local storage requirements.
